After a long time some news from us... The trip to China went smoothly and travelling in Pakistan is really cool at this time since there are no tourists and everything is even more charming:))) China province Sinchiang is completely cut from the world, so there are only local phones working, there is no internet etc. due to the political instability in the area. Fortunately the BC and the mountain are away from this all, so everything is going on as usually. We were the only one to arrive over Pakistan, the rest of the expedtions came through Kyrgyzstan or directly to China. We have started our attempt the day after the arrival to BC. We have acclimatized on 6100 m, just below the C2. After a break in BC we attempted again, this time hoping for the summit but due to the bad weather we aborted our hopes at 7300 m and returned to BC for another day of rest.

    Nanga Parbat 2008

We all returned home safely - three of us to the promised land, two to the sunny side of the Alps where weather for the past few days resembles the one in Pakistan in August. Thanks to all for the encouraging words... it turned out that the most helpfull are new plans - the expedition in 2009 is therefore already starting:)
